okay, less than 80. less than 1 actually. it was around the world day at work today and being a sucker for themes i totally dressed up. made the outfit myself (with some help from my mom).
i think i pulled it off. the kids, it seems, disagreed because i didn't win the costume contest. oh well, i'll get 'em next week...
i see life in technicolor, and while i take it all in i have some pretty awesome insights, at least i like to think so. i am traveling through this life in my own way, and that's okay because in the end, the only steps that matter are the ones you take all by yourself. that said, i think its time for me to spread the love and share the awesomeness because, let's face it, i'm basically the coolest kid you know.

in the meantime
goodness! there's a whole lotta somethin' wrapped up in three measly words. to be fair it's really 2 measly words and 1 of a medium heft. i was thinking about this it and i realized life is really all about the meantime. we have these big dreams and make all sorts of plans, and then what? how many times have you said "someday i'll... (insert future plan here)"? a hundred? a thousand? more? but what about the meantime?
i've spent the last few years talking about going to graduate school. someday. but what about the meantime? i keep saying i want to learn italian, but i haven't. i say that i'd like to play an instrument, but i don't. i always wanted to learn sign language, but i am far from fluent. i bought a digital camera, but have never learned photoshop or any other editing software. i want to kayak and rock climb and waterski, but i don't know how to do any of those things. the think method really isn't working out too well for me. i have this huge to-do list for my life, but i haven't checked very many items off. why? what am i doing in the meantime? professor harold hill got it right when he said "pile up enough tomorrows and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays." and the truth of the matter is, the meantime is turning out to be a lot longer than any of the other stuff anyway. so i'm gonna do something in the meantime.
maybe i'll learn to play the trombone...
or maybe not :)
sidenote: i just entered a contest to win a trip to paris!

"never kick a fresh turd on a hot day"
harry s. truman had some great advice, eh? don't worry, no turd kicking here. i did, however, clean a pretty big one. my car, that is. just want to make it known that it no longer looks as if i live in it. i even vacuumed the thing (trust me, it was an absolute necessity!) and there is now a place for people who venture into my vehicle to put their feet once they enter. the turd is a little less turdy, yay!!!
