resolutions

it's that time of year again. time to evaluate the year and decide to set some resolutions. probably the same ones you set last year since, let's just be honest here, you probably "broke" your resolutions within a week or so. am i right? maybe that's just me... apparently i suck at this new year's resolution thing, because i fail EVERY TIME!!! so this year i'm doing things a little differently and it's about time, you know what they say about repeating the same behaviors expecting different results (yikes!).  no resolutions, just goals. fact: goals are about 6000x better than resolutions for the following reasons:
  1. goal is a shorter word, making it much easier to say
  2. the definition for goal is half as long as that for resolution, making it easier to understand
  3. goal is easier to spell
  4. resolutions are so rigid, goals are much more flexible
  5. i have no more reasons, i just thought five would make a more impressive list
here's the plan, two big goals for the year and a bunch of little ones. why? because it's a lot easier to a) stick with, and b) achieve a big fat complicated goal when it has been broken down into smaller parts. also, i am allowing myself one month to work on the goal before i reevaluate and make any changes to my approach. at least that's the plan.

I like your reasoning. Here's to goals, then!!
